International Hermit and Stitch Weekend May 2016 Part 1
is on the blog Random Ramblings
I have crazy quilting hexagons bases sewn for over a year. All that needs to be done is embroidering and embellishing with beads and other things. Finding International Hermit and Stitch Weekend is wonderful. I have decided to take part with the thought of finishing one a month. Thanks Joyce for this link up. This is the hexie next in line to be worked.
Baby sat three beautiful children again today. When my daughter came home, she stated only 5 more days of practical. She still has school after her practical two days a week. That is better than five days a week. My son dropped in for a visit today. The girls had a great time running around.
I did manage to prep part of the pomegranates and a few more leaves today.
Happy Sewing Hugs,

It seemed as if I spent the entire day embellishing one seam on my Hexie block.
First I could not decide what type of thread to start with.
Next I had a difficult time deciding what colour to use. (Finally decided, sewed the basic row, didn’t like it, took that out, sewed it again using a different colour. Looks a little better.)
Then I was visiting with a friend at her home. Forgot to take the embroidery floss.
Anyway this is what I finally came up with.
I need to decide on something to sew now and not wait for tomorrow. I think that was part of my problem. I could not pinpoint exactly what I wanted to do today so I just floundered around.
Tomorrow I will be sewing on my 7 1/2 blocks. There I said it. Now I just have to stick to it.
Once again I’m linking up to 2016 Drop and Give Me 20 challenge.HAPPY SEWING HUGS
Color is not my strength. I love color but not when it comes to putting blocks together, I struggle. Today I sewed the 5 blocks I scheduled in my daily challenge. It took me all day. 20 blocks sewn, only 40 more to go. Time to put my feet up.
I really enjoyed sewing stitch 3. Stitch three included using silk thread. I choose to sew three French Knots instead of the one French Knot shown in the diagram.
This stitch challenged me. I am good at feather stitch when the stitch is a basic stitch. The curved stitch with the extending lines on one side…..trying to make them the same size is daunting. After a few tries I am happy with the results.
